__What is the basic purpose of the Staffing Portal ?__\\
The Staffing Portal centralizes your schedules and user communication and provides an overview of jobs and a snapshot of the system information. You will be able to see job information based on the capabilities given to you.\\ As a recruiter you can view your hiring summary, your tasks , your productivity reports and interviews you need to schedule. As a recruiter you can access information and decide to retain the interesting candidates, disposition the not so qualified applicants and even handle applicants for multiple positions.\\ \\''What can you see ?''\\ \\If you are an __administrator__, you will see information relevant to all applicants (both applicants submitted to jobs and not submitted to jobs) across all groups without any restrictions.\\If you are a __recruiter__, you have the capability to view all applicants that are not tied to a particular job across all groups without any restrictions. As a recruiter you might also have the capability to view all applicants submitted to jobs that were created by other users in the same group as you and applicants applying through a career center tied to same organization level as yours (with or without submitting to a job).\\If you are a __hiring manager__ , you will have the capability to view only applicants that were revealed by your recruiters, based on the reveal criteria for a particular job. Any screen that is accessible to you as a hiring manager, has this filtered list of candidates.
----
__What are the types of portlets/sections available on your staffing portal ?__\\
There are various types of portlets:\\
__Portlets with pre-defined job information__ – These provide out-of-the-box content for various persona types- recruiters, hiring managers and administrators. For example, Hiring Summary section displays applicant information where the recruiter is a job participant.\\
__Data portlets__ – These are visible on the screen only to those who have the capability to access reports. These portlets are small applications that display information in various formats, such as text, figures, graphs, reports, tables, and charts. These portlets retrieve real-time data from system reports to provide you with interactive access to a wide range of HCM business functions.\\
__External portlets:__ These are additional portlets that you can add on their individual portals. Example: SHRM RSS feed, weather portlet, Jobster portlet, et cetra.
----
__Who are the different types of personas that can access the system ?__\\
Generally, the following personas are a part of the recruitment process:\\ \\
''Recruiters'' - The recruiter is the person responsible for finding and hiring an applicant for an open job \\''Hiring Managers'' - When a job opening is given to a recruiter, the hiring manager is responsible for making the final hiring decision and managing the hiring process. The hiring manager is usually the person to whom the new hire reports.\\''Administrators''- The administrator provides key metrics for a recruiter's performance and identifies things that affect the hiring process. He provides visiblity into the recruiter's hiring process, provides powerful and flexible ad hoc reporting through standard and ad hoc reports in the system.\\''Approving manager'' - The approving manager is responsible for approving the configuration of the job when it is constructed by the recruiter. He or she is often called upon to approve the decisions of the hiring manager when the hiring manager wants to make an offer to an applicant. A job can have multiple approving managers, each of whom must approve a job during the construction phase. \\''Scheduler'' - Some organizations have a person who manages the scheduling of interviews. This person has scheduling authority over the calendars of hiring managers and interviewers.\\''Interviewer''- When a job requires additional interviews beyond that of the hiring manager, an additional interviewer is added to the job \\''Job Constructor'' - When a job is initially constructed, the creator is identified. Usually the creator is either the hiring manager or the recruiter.
----
__What can I see the in the ''Hiring Summary'' section ?__\\
This portlet displays data on logged in user’s requisitions as defined by below capabilities that logged in user has. You can filter the displayed data in the hiring summary section while editing settings.
----
__From where does the data in the ''Hiring Summary'' section display ?__\\
The data displays based on the capabilities you have and the organization level you belong to. So recruiters and administrators will see different summary relevant to their functions. This section lists all the jobs that the user can view based on his/her capabilities and status of the job. The data displays by applying the user’s capability to each of the jobs.
----
__How is the ''Edit Settings'' icon [Edit settings.jpg] useful to me ?__\\
Clicking on this icon brings up a call out which gives you an ability to change the number of records that are shown in this portlet.
----
__What reports can I choose to display in the ''Productivity and Reports'' section?__\\
The reports portlet displays for all persona types that have the capability to view reports. \\All standard reports, pre-built ad hoc (EEO and Open Requisitions) reports and all your customized saved reports are available to be displayed in this section.
----
__I tried to add my RSS feed through the ''Add Portlet'' option. Why are my feeds not displaying?__\\
You need to check if the RSS feed URL is correct or valid. Please note that RSS feeds can be added only if you are given the capability by your system administrator. For example, if you would like the latest BBC News World video stories, cut and paste the BBC news feed URL to subscribe to the feed.
----
__Can I see expired jobs in the ''My Requisitions'' section?__\\
Rejected and expired jobs are shown for 14 days after status change. This period is determined by a system setting.
-----
__Who are ''Preferred Candidates'' in the ''My Requisitions in Selection'' section?__\\
Preferred Candidates are those who have:\\• Applied to the job.\\• Have completed all assessment tests associated with the job.\\• Have met or exceeded the ''Minimum Assessment Score'' for all tests associated with the job. For tests taken more than once, only the most recent score is considered.\\• Have previously taken assessment test(s)(for example, Proveit!) and the current Prove It! Score is tied to the job where a check takes place to ensure the candidate has met or exceeded the ''Minimum Assessment Score'' for all Prove It! tests he has taken, associated with the job.
----
__If I make some changes on my staffing portal, will they be retained when I log out of the system?__\\
Yes they will be retained. When you click ''Edit settings'' in the ''My Requisitions'' section, for instance, a call-out appears where you can filter the data in the call-out. Any change you make to this is sticky and will remain the same, even if you log out. If you have the capability to display different reports on this dashboard, the selected reports display even after you log out. If you minimize a section or portlet on the screen, it remains minimized when you log out and log in as a return user.
----
__How many reports can I display on my staffing portal ?__\\
You can display a maximum of two reports on your staffing portal. You can modify the date range shown for these reports using the drop down in edit settings. The selection made in the drop down is sticky, that is, the data displayed according to the selcted date remains the same even after you log out and return, till you change the selected date. You can add a report portlet/section only if you have the capability.
----
__If I click on a hyperlink in any of the sections, why is no page displaying ?__\\
For example, if you click the ''Job Title'' hyperlink in the ''My Requisitions in Selection '' section, it takes you to the __View- edit Job Details__ screen. If you are unable to see this page, it denotes you do not have access to those details or to that screen.

! RSS Feeds
__RSS (Really Simple Syndication)__ is a format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites, including major news sites such as CNN, BBC, or any other major HR sites such as www.shrm.org. RSS solves a problem for people who regularly use the web. It allows you to easily stay informed by retrieving the latest content from the sites you are interested in. You save time by not needing to visit each site individually.
''An RSS document (which is called a "feed," "web feed," or "channel") contains either a ''summary of content'' from an associated web site or the full text. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with web sites in ''an automated'' manner that can be piped into special programs or filtered displays.''
