Behavior changed for this between 2.2 and 2.4:

*
{{{
{{simple monospaced text}}
}}}

Displays in monospaced font, like this: {{simple monospaced text}}

*
{{{
{{http://monospacedURL}}
}}}
displays in monospaced font as of 2.2, but with 2.4, the monospaced text is also displayed as a link to the URL, like this: {{http://monospacedURL}}.

See [this page on the Sandbox|http://sandbox.jspwiki.org/Wiki.jsp?page=TestingPreformattedText], which still runs a 2.2 engine, to compare.

Not such a big deal, espeacially since we can escape this URL behavior using {{{{{{http://monospacedURL}}}}}}. But is it intentional?
