Installing JSP Wiki on Windows XP (not best practice and not confirmed)#

  • Download and install the Java Development Kit 7 (JDK7) from Oracle
  • Download and install Tomcat (change the port used from port 8080 to 80 (if youre not using Apache httpd also))
  • Download JSPWiki
  • Change the .ext name of JSPWiki to .zip
  • Extract the file to a location you can find easily (ie C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop\tmp\)
  • Copy the .war file to 'C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 7.0\webapps\'
  • Restart the Tomcat Service
  • Open your browser of choice and go to 'http://localhost/'

Installing JSP Wiki on Windows 7 (not best practice and not confirmed)#

  • Download and install the Java Development Kit 1.6 or 1.7
  • Download and install Tomcat 6 or 7
  • Download JSPWiki (current stable release: JSPWiki-2.8.4-bin.zip)
  • Extract the file to a location you can find easily
  • Create a subfolder under $CATALINA_HOME\webapps, eq. jspwiki
  • Extract the .war file uder $CATALINA_HOME\webapps\jspwiki
  • Restart the Tomcat Service (you can test it with 'http://localohst:8080/' - it's Tomcat's home page)
  • Open your browser and go to 'http://localhost:8080/jspwiki\Install.jsp' - This is the installer page
  • Here you can add a few settings and save
  • After that it creates jspwiki.properties file - here you can add some more features
  • And the startpage: 'http:localhost:8080/jspwiki'
